Day 1
So there I was. An only child who hadn't spent a day without his parents now at the forefront of spending 5 whole days without them. But I wasn't scared. Day 1 For the first time in my life had I woken up on my own by an alarm, that too at 6 am. I got out of bed, made it and took my toothbrush out of my suitcase. It was a new day and a new experience. I walked to the shared bathroom being one of the first ones there and brushed my teeth. I had gotten ready by 7 and walked down. I started feeling free and decisive for the first time in my life. Once I stepped out of the Residential Hall 3 walked around the campus attempting to find my way around it to the mess (cafeteria). After about 10 minutes of walking I finally found it. A massive place to eat. As I walked in I realised that I was supposed to sit on the upper floor. I went up and just looked around for a space (students like myself were hogging seats like packs of hungry wolves).
